Wimpy Winther (Richard Lew Winther) was born on October 22, 1947 in Charles City, Louisiana. After going to high school at Biloxi (MS), Winther attended the University of Mississippi. Winther made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 2 year career.
