Born on October 20, 1869 in Riverside, New Jersey, William Stecher (William Theodore Stecher) played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 1 year career. Stecher broke into the bigs on September 6, 1890 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 1.32 ERA in 68 innings pitched in 1890, his rookie year.
