William Loftus

College
Attended the University of Manitoba and was named All-Canadian in 1997.He played for the Surrey Rams (BCJFL) in 1996 and was selected as an All-Canadian. William played two seasons (1994-’95) for College of the Sequoias in California.
Pro
Originally drafted by Montréal in the 3rd round (18th overall) of the 1998 CFL Canadian Draft. Loftus appeared in 111 games for the Alouettes over seven seasons. He joined the Esks in 2005 and appeared in all 18 games. He played in seven games in 2006, bouncing on and off the roster due to injury. Re-signed with Edmonton on December 2, 2005. Originally traded to Edmonton by Montreal on April 28, 2005 in exchange for Terry Vaughn and Edmonton’s sixth round selection (49th overall) in the 2005 Canadian College Draft. In 2007 Loftus played in all 18 starting four games at safety. He finished the season with 32 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, two knockdowns, two forced fumbles and an interception.
