Born on March 12, 1947 in Hyattsville, Maryland, Bill Butler (William Franklin Butler) played for the Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 7 year career. Butler broke into the bigs on April 9, 1969 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 3.90 ERA in 193.2 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Bill Butler's best season was 1969, when he posted a 3.90 ERA and struck out 156 batters.
