Willard Marshall (Willard Warren Marshall) was born on February 8, 1921 in Richmond, Virginia. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1942 for the New York Giants. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 11 home runs and 59 RBI. Marshall played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Willard Marshall's best season was 1947, when he slugged 36 home runs, hit for a .291 average and knocked in 107 runs.
