Ward Cuff (Ward Lloyd Cuff) was born on August 13, 1914 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. After going to high school at Redwood Falls (MN), Cuff attended Marquette University. Cuff made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cardinals over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1943 was Ward Cuff's best year, as he ran for 523 yards and picked off 3 passes.
