Born on November 6, 1887 in Humboldt, Kansas, Walter Johnson (Walter Perry Johnson) played for the Washington Senators for his entire 21 year career. Johnson broke into the bigs on August 2, 1907 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 1.88 ERA in 110.1 innings pitched in 1907, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Walter Johnson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1913, when he posted a 1.14 ERA, won 36 games and struck out 243 batters. However, others believe that it was 1912, when he posted a 1.39 ERA, won 33 games and struck out 303 batters.
