Born on November 3, 1878 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Walter Clarkson (Walter Hamilton Clarkson) played for the New York Highlanders and Cleveland Naps over the course of his 5 year career. Clarkson broke into the bigs on July 2, 1904 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 5.02 ERA in 66.1 innings pitched in 1904, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Walter Clarkson's best season was 1906, when he posted a 2.32 ERA and struck out 64 batters.
