Wally Post (Walter Charles Post) was born on July 9, 1929 in St. Wendelin, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 18, 1949 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1954, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 18 home runs and 83 RBI. Post played for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that Wally Post's best season was 1955, when he slugged 40 home runs, hit for a .309 average and knocked in 109 runs.
