Vitamin Smith (Verda T. Smith) was born on October 30, 1923 in Sweetwater, Texas. After going to high school at Sweetwater (TX) and Ventura (CA), Smith attended Abilene Christian University. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1950 was Vitamin Smith's best year, as he caught 4 TD passes, had 742 kick return yards and ran back 3 kickoffs for touchdowns.
