With the NFL Season around the corner, I thought I'd post a video showing, arguably the best play ever in NFL History.
It was a great play, only for John Carney to miss the Extra Point moments later (after a lengthy review to check if any of the laterals went forwards). So they still lost the game. One of the most exciting/dramatic ends to a game ever, the failed PAT included (sadly I couldn't find it on YouTube).
Stallworth should have been tackled straight away, but after that, I think it's pretty much unstoppable.
This type of play (minus the blocking) is common place in rugby, and look how excited a rugby-type play made the crowd.
Are there any other great plays that beat this?
Also, how does that work on the statistical side? How may recieving yards will Stallworth get? The total from the start of the play to the endzone, or the total until he laterals it. Then what happens to a lateral reciever? How are, if at all, his stats effected?
