Victor Felix Janowicz, born on February 26, 1930 in Elyria, Ohio. After going to high school at Elyria (OH), Janowicz attended Ohio State University. Janowicz played professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he is most famous for his days at Ohio State as the school's star halfback. He was the Heisman Trophy winner in 1950.

He played only two seasons for the Pirates and then pursued a career in the NFL. Janowicz made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the Washington Redskins, where he played ony two seasons before suffering a serious brain injury that left him partially paralyzed in a car accident before the 1956 season.

Most people believe that 1955 was Vic Janowicz's best year, as he ran in 4 TDs.
