Vance Dinges (Vance George Dinges) was born on May 29, 1915 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1945 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 1 home run and 36 RBI. Dinges played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 2 year career.
