Van Rayburn (Virgil Homer Rayburn) was born on August 4, 1910 in Pulaski, Tennessee. After going to high school at Dyersburg (TN), Rayburn attended the University of Tennessee. Rayburn made his professional debut in the NFL in 1933 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 1 year career.
