Val Keckin (Valdemar Christian Keckin) was born on February 12, 1938 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Alexander Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA), Keckin attended Los Angeles City College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Keckin made his professional debut in the AFL in 1962 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers for his entire 1 year career.
