Well, that was my point. The perception is that less strike outs equals less HRs. My point was that you are always going to get an argument to that statement. But, you can't refute hard evidence. That's why I asked for an example.

If my comments in the thread offended you, I apologize. Obviously I respect your opinion because whenever I have a baseball question I ask you. Hell, I don't even ask my father and he's a coach (albeit a high school coach).

Haha...

at least in my understanding of ad hominem attacks, the issue is your argument is attacked the arguer (word?) and not the argument, which is a fallacy...

I'd like to think I'm merely pointing out that using that is, in and of itself, a fallacy and that you're better off pointing out how wrong his argument is rather than how wrong he is because he's not knowledgeable as you in said situation...

Its probably more true in the case of the internet, where anyone can have any "credentials" if you know what i mean...

btw, did you get mlb.tv to work?

Check that out and search on "buyout". Santana has one in 2014 on a club option which can convert into a player option, and it's pretty clear that if it remains a club option and the Mets decline it, Santana gets the buyout from the Mets.

The Mets have club options on Delgado, Wagner, Wright, and Reyes still, each with a buyout. If you're right, the club "owns" that and therefore the *player* would have to pay the buyout, which isn't true in practice.

My bad, you've already got a "wiki" page. Try this one:

http://www.armchairgm.com/UserWiki_2:Kelsdad

It's basically just a draft page for yourself on the site.

Did you like it? I just used the "Estimated Runs Produced" formula for hitters, and tried to come up with an equivalent for pitchers. I think it ended up overvaluing pitchers, but I'll have to go back and look at it again. If you liked it, we should do it again. If not, I'd join somebody else's league. Is there a site out there that lets you have a head-to-head points league? I find that pure points leagues lose steam pretty quickly, and that h2h holds people's attention longer. I'll have to Google around for free H2H leagues that let you use points and get back to you.
