InterMat (www.intermatwrestle.com) is the National Wrestling Coaches Association's media web site and servers as the premier source of college and high school wrestling news nationwide. InterMat covers the nation's top collegiate, high school and international amateur wrestling events and produces the NCAA Division I wrestling rankings and InterMat High School Team & Individual Rankings.
Jason Bryant is the lead writer and webmaster for the site and will post stories of general interest he writes for armchairgm.
Bryant is a 2004 graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. where he served as the Editor-in-Chief for the student newspaper, The Mace & Crown in 2004 and served as Sports Director for WODU Radio from 1999-2004. Bryant has an extensive sports background, working for the Newport News (Va.) Daily Press from 1996-2004. He covered high school and college football, wrestling and a hodgepodge of prep and collegiate sports during his tenure.
Bryant has also worked as a sideline reporter for Comcast SportsNet, done play-by-play for women's basketball on WHRO (Norfolk) and is a frequent on-air personality for Takedown Wrestling Radio, based in Des Moines, Iowa. He also announced the 2000 NCAA Division I field hockey national championships and scores of regional and national high school wrestling events, including the 2004 Beast of the East and 2006 and 2007 Virginia AAA state wrestling tournaments.
Writing in the third person is so difficult sometimes ... so here's some realistic stuff.
I'm 28, single, live in Lancaster, Pa. I like movies, music, concerts, minor league baseball, long walks on the beach, singing kumbaya by a camp fire and playing disc golf. Oh, and cliches, I love loathing cliches!
