  • Finishes 8th in inaugural IRL season
  • Starts on pole at Indy 500. Stewart qualified second, but pole sitter Scott Brayton was killed in practice prior to the race.
  • First races in the Busch series

  • Wins IRL Championship
  • Win at Pikes Peak
  • Poles at Walt Disney World, Phoenix, Texas, and Charlotte

  • Finishes third in IRL series
  • Won at Walt Disney World and Loudon
  • Runs 22 Busch races, including 5 top 5's and 2 poles
