Tommy Corcoran (Thomas William Corcoran) was born on January 4, 1869 in New Haven, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1890 for the Pittsburgh Burghers. In 1890, his rookie year, he hit .233 with 1 home run and 61 RBI. Corcoran played for the Pittsburgh Burghers, Philadelphia Athletics, Brooklyn Bridegrooms, Cincinnati Reds and New York Giants over the course of his 18 year career.

Most people believe that Tommy Corcoran's best season was 1894, when he stole 33 bases, hit for a .300 average and knocked in 92 runs.
