Tom Turner (Thomas Richard Turner) was born on September 8, 1916 in Custer, Oklahoma. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1940 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 3 home runs and 21 RBI. Turner played for the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career.
