Tom Rychlec (Thomas Richard Rychlec) was born on September 11, 1934 in Meriden, Connecticut. After going to high school at Meriden (CT) and Monson Academy, Rychlec attended American International College. Rychlec made his professional debut in the NFL in 1958 with the Detroit Lions. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Detroit Lions the entire time. Rychlec also played in the AFL for 4 years, playing for the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos over the course of his 4 year AFL career.
Most people believe that 1960 was Tom Rychlec's best year, as he hauled in 44 receptions and had 581 receiving yards.
