Tom Mcwilliams (Thomas Edward McWilliams) was born on May 12, 1926 in Newton, Mississippi. After going to high school at Meridian (MS), Mcwilliams attended Army College and Mississippi State University. Mcwilliams made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Los Angeles Dons. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Dons the entire time. Mcwilliams also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1950 was Tom Mcwilliams's best year.
