Tom Leary (Thomas John Leary) was born on April 15, 1904 in Sprimgfield, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Westbrook Seminary (Westbrook, ME), Leary attended Fordham University. Leary made his professional debut in the NFL in 1927 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets, Newark Tornadoes and Staten Island Stapletons over the course of his 4 year career.
