[edit] Biography

Born on December 21, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, Tom Henke (Thomas Anthony Henke) played for the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 14 year career. Henke broke into the bigs on September 10, 1982 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 3.35 ERA in 91.1 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Tom Henke's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, notched 40 saves and struck out 79 batters. However, others believe that it was 1989, when he posted a 1.92 ERA, notched 20 saves and struck out 116 batters. Another season that some believe was Tom Henke's best was 1987, when he posted a 2.49 ERA, notched 34 saves and struck out 128 batters.
