Tim Raines (Timothy Raines, Sr.) was born on September 16, 1959 in Sanford, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 11, 1979 for the Montreal Expos. In 1981, his rookie year, he hit .304 with 5 home runs and 37 RBI. Raines played for the Montreal Expos, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles and Florida Marlins over the course of his 22 year career.

Most people believe that Tim Raines's best season was 1983, when he stole 90 bases, hit for a .298 average and knocked in 71 runs.
