College
He played 41 games, seeing action at linebacker, tight end and defensive end… He made 64 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks… He also registered three receptions for 17 yards, one interception, forced two fumbles and blocked two kicks.
Pro
In his first CFL season, he distinguished himself among the Tiger-Cats’ defensive players.
He led the Tiger-Cats and tied for third in the league with 10 sacks… He led his team with 63 defensive tackles… He was Hamilton’s nominee for the CFL Most Outstanding Player award.
He had his best season, leading the CFL with 14 sacks… He was named the Lineman of the Week for Week #10… He returned one kickoff for eight yards.
He attended training camp with the Houston Texans… Back with the Ticats, he finished third on the team with six sacks.
He led the Tigers-Cats in both sacks and knockdowns.
Cheatwood made 11 tackles, three sacks and one tackle for a loss in seven games with the Edmonton Eskimos. He signed with Montreal and spent the first half of the season on the nine-game injured list with a knee injury before being released.
