(11/10) With Vinny Testaverde still nursing a sore achile's tendon, David Carr still woozy from last weeks concusion, Matt Moore has been warming up. Being the team player that he is he's dancing from foot to foot saying, "send me in coach"!... but on the inside he's reminding himself to contact his agent to get that long term disability insurance they've been talking about since week 6.
Matt will be (if he starts tomorrow) the 4th QB to start for the Carolina Panthers since opening day of the 2007 season. It is hard to play successfully in the NFL without consistancy, especially at key leadership positions. And the QB position is easily in the top 3 of those positions.
I've said it before, and I am going to repeat it here. If these men were samurai... the offensive line would be going to the 50 yard line to commit sepuko. An offensive lineman on the Panthers was quoted as saying, "...we take it personally when our QB gets hurt". Well pal, your self esteem has got to be in the storm drain right about now. And to be honest, the Olson kid just signed to the practice (and now promoted to the team roster) squad has got to like his chances about padding his resume with some real gametime snaps.
So, if you think you've got what it takes (i.e. like the movie "Invincible), stay tuned, warm up the car, and prepare to head to Charlotte. Anything is possible.
