The Best Runningback Ever---Championship!!!

by Agent0

So I have been on a 56 day Hiatus. People might have been on a limb wondering when the championship was going to come out, but most of you all didn't really give a shit. I know the whiners and complainers like False Prophet (still love you) probably were glad that the tournament without Corey Dillon and Gale Sayers didn't come to a conclusion, but I'm here to upset you all. I have come back to finish the Best Runningback Tournament. It is time to see who is rightfully the champion, the favorite Walter Payton or the underdog Jim Brown. Both players have battled through the field and both had first round byes. So here are the impressive resumes for the championship contestants.

Walter Payton #34 Chicago Bears
12 Seasons 1975-1987 (All w/ Bears)
College: Jackson State
Drafted in RD 1 pick 4
NFL Hall of Fame
College Football Hall of Fame
All Pro 7 times
9 Pro Bowls
1 Pro Bowl MVP
2 NFL MVP
1 Super Bowl Ring
16,726 Career Rushing Yards
4.4 Average Yards per Carry
110 Career Touchdowns

Jim Brown #32 Cleveland Browns
8 Seasons 1957-1965 (All w/ Browns)
College: Syracuse
Drafted in RD 1 pick 6
NFL Hall of Fame
College Football Hall of Fame
Lacrosse Hall of Fame
All Pro Team 8 times
9 Pro Bowls
3 Pro Bowl MVPs
Rookie of the Year Award
4 NFL MVPs
Super Bowl was created after Jim Brown retired
12,312 Career Rushing Yards
5.2 Average Yards Per Carry
106 Career Touchdowns

Now to make this voting a little more interesting I decided to do some math and I came up with what number Jim Brown would've had, had he played 12 season like Walter Payton did. Now these stats are a rough estimate after I did some math and they also don't take into account if there would've been injuries or decline of skill due to age.

Jim Brown #32 Cleveland Browns (w/ 4 more season)
18,468 Career Rushing Yards (1,742 more than Payton)
5.2 Average Yards Per Carry (0.8 more than Payton)
161 Career Touchdowns (51 more than Payton)

So now I hope this information all together gives you a better outlook on the voting. I hope it better helps you decide. Now I kknow most of you are thinking, I refuse to vote, or you want to boycott this or whatever, but don't do that. Help choose the rightful best choice. So everyone vote for The Best Runningback Ever, both of these men are well deserving.

VOTE NOW

#1 Walter Payton VS #3 Jim Brown

I'm voting in the final round for Payton. Brown might have been on track for the better career, but he didn't have the better career statistically. Payton 1-1 Brown

YPC is a fine indicator - especially when you realize the difference in the rules (the game was meaner in the 60's and Brown was the meanest of them all)

I bet that Anon #2 is a hell of a handsome dude. Probably as smart and funny as he is humble and sarcastic.

The best was Barry Sanders. Anyone can run over people. (Not quite) But Sanders could run around them with ease. He had the best agility and elusiveness of any player in the history of the league. He retured young, otherwise could have easily been in line to break all major rushing records. Nuge.

well the turnout has been very minor, but so far it does look like Jim Brown is the best ever...I'll wait to see if there is any other votes in the coming days. Payton 1-5 Brown
