Ted Pavelec (Theodore Charles Pavelec) was born on November 4, 1918 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After going to high school at St. Augustine (Kalamazoo, MI), Pavelec attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Pavelec made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 3 year career.
