Ted Cather (Theodore Physick Cather) was born on May 20, 1889 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 23, 1912 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1913, his rookie year, he hit .213 with 0 home runs and 12 RBI. Cather played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Braves over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Ted Cather's best season was 1914, when he hit for a .287 average.
