Acquired:
Traded to the Tiger-Cats from Edmonton along with WR Brock Ralph and a first-round pick in the 2006 Canadian College Draft in exchange for RB Troy Davis and OL Dan Comiskey.
2006:
Played in 15 games in his first full season as a Ticat, lead the team with three interceptions, recorded 65 tackles, six special teams tackles, forced three fumbles and recovered three as well.
2005:
The veteran cornerback played with both Hamilton and Edmonton during his first season in the CFL…in six games played between the two clubs he made 15 defensive tackles, forced three fumbles, recovered another and intercepted one pass…initially signed as a free agent with the Edmonton Eskimos on April 14.
2003:
Played in one game during his third season with San Diego…in the Chargers 24-17 season opening loss at Kansas City, Cody made three total tackles (2 solo)…was inactive for San Diego’s 37-13 loss to Denver on September 14th due to a hamstring strain…was released by the Chargers on September 17th…tried out with the New England Patriots following his release from San Diego.
2002:
Played in only four games due to a toe injury during his second season with the Chargers...was placed on the reserve injured list on October 3rd after surgery for the injury suffered in the Chargers 21-14 victory over New England on September 29th...finished the regular season with seven total tackles (6 solo)...on special teams he made three tackles and recovered one fumble...made a season high four total tackles (3 solo) in San Diego's 34-6 season opening victory at Cincinnati...made three solo tackles in the Charger's 24-3 victory over Houston on September 15th.
2001:
Started 11 of 14 games as a rookie after the San Diego Chargers selected him in the third round (67th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft...finished seventh on the team with 63 total tackles (57 solo)...had two interceptions, which he returned for a total of three yards.
College:
The cornerback who was called by the coaching staff "the best run defender of any defensive back in the Bobby Bowden era", played four seasons (1997-2000) with the Florida State University Seminoles under the legendary head coach...starting 42 of 45 career games in a Seminole uniform he made 192 total tackles (139 solo) including seven for 28 yards in losses and intercepted 12 passes, the sixth most in school history.

Born October 6th, 1977 in Colquitt, Georgia ... Tay is married to his high school sweetheart, Chara, they have three boys; Conronta, Ty'Wantae, and Montana Tay.
