Steve Tasker (Steven Jay Tasker) was born on April 10, 1962 in Leoti, Kansas. After going to high school at Wichita County (Leoti, KS), Tasker attended Dodge City CC and Northwestern University. Tasker made his professional debut in the NFL in 1985 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers over the course of his 13 year career.

Steve Tasker is considered by many to be one of the best special teams players to have ever played pro football. He was named to the Pro Bowl team seven times and was the MVP of the event in 1993. He made up for his diminutive height with blazing speed and tenacity as a gunner on punt and kickoff returns.

Tasker started his collegiate football career at Dodge City Community College before moving on to Northwestern. He was drafted with the 226th overall pick by the Houston Oilers in 1985.
