Born on April 29, 1929 in Yonkers, New York, Steve Ridzik (Stephen George Ridzik) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, Cleveland Indians and Washington Senators over the course of his 12 year career. Ridzik broke into the bigs on September 4, 1950 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.01 ERA in 92.2 innings pitched in 1952, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Ridzik's best season was 1965, when he posted a 4.02 ERA and struck out 72 batters.
