Born on March 11, 1965 in Los Angeles, California, Steve Reed (Steven Vincent Reed) played for the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 14 year career. Reed broke into the bigs on August 30, 1992 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 4.48 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Reed's best season was 1995, when he posted a 2.14 ERA and struck out 79 batters.
