Steve Preece (Steven Packer Preece) was born on February 15, 1947 in Boise, Idaho. After going to high school at Borah (Boise, ID), Preece attended Oregon State University. Preece made his professional debut in the NFL in 1969 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that 1977 was Steve Preece's best year, as he picked off 4 passes.
