Steve Jones (Steve Hunter Jones) was born on March 6, 1951 in Sanford, North Carolina. After going to high school at Central (Sanford, NC), Jones attended Duke University. Jones made his professional debut in the NFL in 1973 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Buffalo Bills over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1976 was Steve Jones's best year, as he ran in 8 TDs.
