[edit] Biography

Born on September 14, 1936 in Enfield, New Hampshire, Stan Williams (Stanley Wilson Williams) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 14 year career. Williams broke into the bigs on May 17, 1958 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 4.01 ERA in 119 innings pitched in 1958, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Stan Williams's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1968, when he posted a 2.50 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 147 batters. However, others believe that it was 1970, when he posted a 1.99 ERA, won 10 games, notched 15 saves and struck out 76 batters.
