Spike Staff (Edgar Jonathan Staff) was born on March 13, 1892 in Brockton, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Brockton (MA), Staff attended Brown University. Staff made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller for his entire 1 year career.
