Sonny Liles (Elvin Merle Liles) was born on August 9, 1919 in Marlow, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Clinton (OK), Liles attended Oklahoma State University. Liles made his professional debut in the NFL in 1943 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1944 was Sonny Liles's best year.
