Born on December 11, 1910 in Veto, Alabama, Slick Coffman (George David Coffman) played for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 4 year career. Coffman broke into the bigs on May 21, 1937 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 101 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.
