[edit] Biography

Born on January 3, 1915 in Coalfield, Tennessee, Sid Hudson (Sidney Charles Hudson) played for the Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 12 year career. Hudson broke into the bigs on April 18, 1940 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.57 ERA in 252 innings pitched in 1940, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Sid Hudson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1940, when he posted a 4.57 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 96 batters. However, others believe that it was 1941, when he posted a 3.46 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 108 batters.
