Showboat Fisher (George Aloys Fisher) was born on January 16, 1899 in Wesley, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on April 24, 1923 for the Washington Senators. In 1930, his rookie year, he hit .374 with 8 home runs and 61 RBI. Fisher played for the Washington Senators, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Showboat Fisher's best season was 1930, when he hit for a .374 average and knocked in 61 runs.
