[edit] Biography

Shannon Stewart (Shannon Harold Stewart) was born on February 25, 1974 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 2, 1995 for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1997, his rookie year, he hit .286 with 0 home runs and 22 RBI. Stewart played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, and Oakland A's over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Shannon Stewart's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he slugged 21 home runs, hit for a .319 average and knocked in 69 runs. However, others believe that it was 1998, when he stole 51 bases, hit for a .279 average and knocked in 55 runs. Another season that some believe was Shannon Stewart's best was 2001, when he stole 27 bases, hit for a .316 average and knocked in 60 runs.

[edit] Scouting Report

Far removed from his 2000-2003 peak... Power is all but gone at this stage of his career... Plate patience is average at best... Good contact hitter with above-average bat control... Has a good understanding of the strike zone... Speed has declined in recent years... Still a solid outfield defender.
