Born on October 10, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, Saul Rogovin (Saul Walter Rogovin) played for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 8 year career. Rogovin broke into the bigs on April 28, 1949 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.78 ERA in 216.2 innings pitched in 1951, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Saul Rogovin's best season was 1952, when he posted a 3.85 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 121 batters.
