Sandy Valdespino (Hilario (Borroto) Valdespino) was born on January 24, 1939 in San Jose de las Lajas, Cuba. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1965 for the Minnesota Twins. In 1965, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 1 home run and 22 RBI. Valdespino played for the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Pilots, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 7 year career.
