Born on September 3, 1920 in Potrerillos, Cuba, Sandy Consuegra (Sandalio Simeon (Castello) Consuegra) played for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and New York Giants over the course of his 8 year career. Consuegra broke into the bigs on June 10, 1950 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.40 ERA in 124.2 innings pitched in 1950, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Sandy Consuegra's best season was 1954, when he posted a 2.69 ERA and won 16 games.
