Sam Walton (Sam Thaw Walton) was born on January 3, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. After going to high school at Memphis (TN), Walton attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University-Commerce. Walton made his professional debut in the AFL in 1968 with the New York Jets. He played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Jets the entire time. Walton also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.
