Born on March 11, 1972 in San Pedro de Macoris, Macoris (Dominican Republic), Salomon Torres (Salomon (Ramirez) Torres) played for the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 10 year career. Torres broke into the bigs on August 29, 1993 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 5.44 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched in 1994, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Salomon Torres's best season was 2006, when he posted a 3.28 ERA, notched 12 saves and struck out 72 batters.
