[edit] Biography
Ryan Clady attended Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California and is currently an offensive tackle for Boise State University.
[edit] High School
In high school Clady played both offensive and defensive line and recorded 60 tackles and five sacks on the defensive side. Ryan would finish his 2004 senior season with a first team All-CVL selection, a first team All-County pick and a first team All-CIF Division I selction.
[edit] Freshmen Year
Ryan redshirted for the Broncos in 2004, but made an immediate impact on the field in 2005 as the starting right tackle in 11 of the teams 13 games. Clady helped the team finish in the top ten nationally in scoring and rushing touchdowns and the top twenty in rushing yards per game. Clady would end up being named to multiple freshmen all-american teams including First Team Freshmen All-American by ESPN.com.
[edit] Sophomore Year
In 2006 Ryan made the move to left tackle and started all 13 games for the Broncos including their incredible Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma. With Clady's help, the Broncos offense would finish the season second in the nation in scoring, second in rushing touchdowns, sixth in the nation in rushing yards per game, and 10th in the nation in total offense on their way to an undefeated season. The team also went its fifth consecutive season with winning at least a share of the WAC title while leading the WAC in rushing yards per game and finishing second in scoring and third in total offense.
[edit] Junior Year
Clady solidified his standing as one of the nation's top left tackles with another dominating season in 2007. Once again Boise State ranked among the top 10 in three of the five team statistical categories including fifth in scoring offense averaging 42.75 points per game, sixth in passing efficiency with a rating of 155.87, and ninth in total offense averaging 475.67 yards per game. Clady was named to numerous all-american teams and was named the Bronco's co-offensive lineman of the year. Ryan had a big decision facing him in 2007 with regards to whether or not to turn pro and most likely be the first Boise State football player to ever be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
[edit] Scouting Report
Clady is generally considered to be the #3 offensive tackle prospect for the 2008 NFL Draft. Clady has great upper body strength and long arms that help him keep defenders at bay. Clady also uses good technique and surprisingly quick feet to get position on his man and finish his blocks. He excels at both pass blocking and run blocking and has experience playing left and right tackle. The biggest concerns about Ryan adjusting to play at the next level are that he doesn't play in a pro-style system at Boise State and that he does not play against the highest quality competition.
