Born on April 25, 1883 in Brandon, Manitoba (Canada), Russ Ford (Russell William Ford) played for the New York Highlanders, New York Yankees and Buffalo Blues over the course of his 7 year career. Ford broke into the bigs on April 28, 1909 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 1.65 ERA in 299.2 innings pitched in 1910, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Russ Ford's best season was 1910, when he posted a 1.65 ERA, won 26 games and struck out 209 batters.
